Rather than do a ‘best of’ style post, every year I’m doing a rundown of what music I’ve made this year, and what I’ve learned from doing so.

tl;dr
Once again, I’ve only make created audio demos for the blog. I haven’t sat down and recorded any songs at all this year.
I won’t feel very good about myself if I’m saying the exact same thing at the end of 2025.
I Have Excuses, Not Music
I could sit here and write about how I’ve been sorting out many of the things that I need to make music. I could also talk about the months where I couldn’t really play much after emergency surgery in the summer. Or any of the other distractions that came this year.
But they’re just excuses.
Back in the mid-90s, I recorded a full demo album with a single guitar and just two effects pedals on a basic 4-track tape recorder. And I did this while living away from home for work, in a stressful role in a very toxic company. A horrible situation, about as far from ideal as possible for any creative person.
But I did it. So I just need to get on with it.
