One Control Honey Bee 4K Mini Custom
Bjorn Juhl’s (aka BJF / BJFe) Honey Bee is a legendary overdrive pedal, and a close cousin of my beloved Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive (SHOD for short).
For the Honey Bee’s 20th anniversary (back in 2022?), Bjorn released two new versions of the Honey Bee in mini-pedal format through One Control of Japan. The idiot that I am, I didn’t realise that they were a limited production run; they were in stock at Thomann for months, and I just assumed they were readily available 🤦♂️
I’ve been waiting well over a year to find one on the UK second-hand market. When one finally did, I couldn’t believe my luck. I really thought I’d missed out there.
This is an excellent overdrive pedal – one of the best that I’ve ever tried – and it deserves its own blog post. Until then, I’m going to point you in the direction of Visual Guy’s demo.
