Rather than do a ‘best of’ style post, every year I’m doing a rundown of what gear we started with and what gear we ended up with – along with a discussion of why.
Previous years: [2019] [2020] [2021] [2022] [2023] [2024]
I’m Currently Not In A Band
We haven’t gigged since late 2019 (thank you, global pandemic!), and over the summer, my vocalist (and other half of the band) admitted that she considers herself retired from the band.
There’s no fuss, no drama, no falling out.
It’s simply that we’re both reaching that point in life where age and responsibilities leave less time for hobbies. And music has always been just a hobby for us both.
I’m Going To Let (Most Of) The Gigging Gear Go
There’s no way I’m selling my Auden Bowman 45 acoustic guitar. It’s my one and only acoustic guitar, and it suits me so well.
But everything else I bought specifically for gigging with? There’s no reason to hang on to any of it; none of it will get used in my home studio. Best I move it on.
Any Plans For 2026?
Right now, I’m not looking to find another band. Tess is the only musical collaborator that it’s ever really worked well with.
So the only plans for 2026 is to wait until spring (when folks have recovered from Christmas spending), and then start selling the gear that I don’t need any more.
