Rather than do a ‘best of’ style post, every year I’m writing up a rundown of what pedals I’m using, and why.
Previous years: [2019] [2020] [2021] [2022] [2023] [2024]

Tone. At Home.
Traditionally, November is a quiet month for me. With Christmas on the horizon, I normally hold off on buying things, in case I end up accidentally buying something that Kristi’s decided to get me.
Not this year 😁
Admittedly, the haul looks a lot bigger than it was, as I bought a guitar that came with three free pedals. But still. There’s plenty in here to keep me busy well into 2026.
Continue reading “New Arrivals: November 2025”This month’s theme was going to be “retro”. I’ve picked up one of the o.g. Klon klones from before they were a thing, and (effectively) a re-issue of the original Honey Bee circuit.
Then, towards the end of the month, I had the opportunity to get two more pedals from Origin Effects (the one brand that I planned to explore this year). That has added a distinctly modern vibe to go alongside the “retro” theme.
Continue reading “New Arrivals: July 2025”Earlier this month, I picked up one of my holy grail pedals: a Honey Bee OD made by BJFe.

What do I think of it? Read on for my First Impressions.

Continue reading “New Arrivals: June 2025”I’ve had computer troubles, which stopped me posting anything for a while. And, unfortunately, I didn’t manage to make a blog post about this pedal before the computer troubles began.
Continue reading “(Belated) New Arrivals: March 2025”This month, I was able to tick off three items from my gear bucket list.
One of the things I’ve been (re)learning this year is this: the kind of gear I’m interested in trying is only getting rarer and rarer. If I see something, and don’t get it, there’s a very good chance that I’ll be waiting a very long time before I see another example.
And it’s always hard to tell whether or not an item was worth getting until you have it in your hands …

I recently picked up another Bearfoot FX pedal: the Emerald Green OD. Read on for my first impressions.

Late 2020, Wampler Pedals launched the Wampler Belle, which comes in a fetching green. They also did a limited run of these in the Claymore finish, as a tribute to the late Alex Abernathy Clay. Same circuit, just a different finish.
Here are my (long overdue) first impressions of this delightful overdrive pedal.
